Board Descriptions

The Pastel Society of New Jersey will be governed by an Executive Board comprised of a core of three elected officers: President, Secretary and Treasurer; plus additional elected officers needed to fulfill the mission of the organization which may include: First Vice President (Communications) Second Vice President (Exhibitions), Programs Director, Newsletter editor, Publicity coordinator, and Membership chairperson. The board may change the number and roles of the additional elected board members as needed to meet the changing needs of the organization.

President ~ Shall have general charge and supervision over and responsibility for the affairs of the Corporation, subject to the approval of the Board. The President shall perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned to the President by the Board or specifically required to be performed by law or these Bylaws.

Treasurer ~ Shall oversee financial resources and transactions for the organization, including: fulfilling state and federal filing and reporting requirements; maintaining bank account and check book, and pays bills, fees and dues as required for organizational business; and other duties as may be deemed necessary by the board.

Secretary ~ Shall be responsible for maintaining records and correspondence of the organization and other duties as determined by the board.

First Vice-President ~ Shall supervise the officers and committees that provide communications functions such as Newsletter, website, social media, and publicity and shall assume the duties of the president in the President’s absence.

Second Vice-President ~ Shall serve as exhibitions chairperson and oversee exhibitions committee.

Membership ~ Shall be responsible for maintaining membership data, conduct membership drives and other tasks as deemed necessary by the Board.

Programs Director ~ Shall oversee programming to further the mission of the organization such as workshops and demonstrations.
